Apart from the rule of going fresh, coconut water rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics once exposed to air, and begins to ferment. Hence, the best way to drink coconut juice is drink it directly from the coconut. Please do not consume canned or bottled coconut drinks for your health and weight loss program. Also, old coconuts are not drinkable.
